Visual Art – San Francisco

Seems like i've been an artist all my life. I love expressing my creativity in ways that define some aspects of my personality that are not always so obvious. With both my sculptural artwork and hand-built pottery, I try to push my thoughts outside the normal boundaries of my mind. My sculptural artwork and hand-built pottery reflects my interest in the human body. My goal is to make sculptures that are provocative and thought provoking. My references include body parts expressed through objects of consumptions such as fruit and candy; historical events of death and/or destruction such as slavery and the struggle of homosexuals. My work is not for everybody...some may see it as negative or confrontational. But as an artist, I stand behind the statements made by each piece. Most of my sculptures are confrontational therefore bringing positive light and awareness to issues that are sometimes ignored or sweep under the rug. My goal is to leave my impression in the process of making sculpture artwork and pottery while using glaze or acrylic mediums that are appealing to the visual and tactile senses.
