Visual Art – Portland

A life-long artist, I create eclectic, high contrast artwork most closely akin to pop surrealism. Featuring (primarily) figurative subject matter with bold, contrasting colors and unexpected or exaggerated view-points, my work explores and documents our relationships with life, death and nature. My tastes, interests and inspirations drive what I create – not by what’s currently trending, gallery owners that claim figurative art is dead or limited to just one genre/medium – and I encourage viewers to form their own relationship with the work before discussing the ideas behind it. My work has been shown nationwide and most recently was featured in Portland\'s edition of the Sugar Art & Fashion Show, a national art/fashion/music tour. In 2012, I took 1st place in the acrylic portrait division of the Clackamas Art Guild’s Annual Juried Show. A fixture at Gigantic Gallery in NW Portland, I\'m also involved in community art events such as the installation of the original Boise-Eliot Outdoor Market wall in North Portland and regularly contribute to the Buckman Art Show & Sell, an annual benefit for Buckman Elementary School in SE Portland.
