Visual Art – Philadelphia

I am a West Philadelphia artist whose work currently focuses on celebrating blacks lives, culture, beauty, and putting color back into our community. My love for art began at the age of 8 when I started attending The Southwest Community Enrichment Center; a non-profit, community-based human service organization that provides a broad range of services to the residents of the Kingsessing section of Philadelphia and at the time they offered art classes. I would walk to the center everyday after school. Through this program I gained the opportunity to participate in "young artist classes" at University of The Arts, and Moore College of Art and Design throughout my elementary and high school years. During these years I studied cartooning/illustration, 2D design, fashion design, interior design, textiles, and sculpture. I later attended The Pennsylvania State University Theater Technology and Design BFA program with a focus in Costume Design. My background is extremely diverse however I have developed a strong relationship with Acrylics and love for vibrant colors. Recently, I have been gravitating towards painting the anatomy and spirit of women and is what I am most passionate about at the moment.
