Bri O’Malley

Visual Art – Edmonton

If you travel along the North Saskatchewan in the vicinity of north Edmonton at around 3 a.m. Chances are you will see the dimly lit window of local artist and professional insomniac Bri O'Malley. She is a painter and printmaker, working in acrylics and silkscreen and has dabbled in everything from Abstraction to Surrealism. After attending both Grant MacEwan University and the University of Alberta where she sharpened her painting skills and broadened her subject matter, she received her degree in Fine Arts. Since her graduation in 2016, her work has caught the eye of several people who have been drawn to her style of thick impasto street scaps to colorfully explosive portraits. When you ask her where she gets her inspiration from she will reply with "this weird little world and its inhabitants." A rather unexpected statement coming from this very asocial woman with a chronic resting bitch face. Never the less, she is an observer who sits on her high perch watching every little movement and documenting it with a paintbrush in hand.
