Visual Art – Honolulu

I am an avid environmentalist. My current projects are focused in recycling both materials and creativity. I have developed a great passion manual paper making. Its a rewarding process that keeps me connected to the material that I tend to use most in my artwork. The satisfaction I get from indirectly including the work of others in my own craft is immense. Through utilizing discarded material from community based studios, a hybrid blend of paper is produced when the final recycled product comes to life. The new sheets that I create are the result of the trials and errors that go into reaching success in art making. Aside from paper making my work is deeply rooted in mixed media. I have learned and discovered many unique ways of adding meaning to my work. This conceptual framework comes from the type of material used, the revealing and masking of layers, and the methods of application. I primarily make use of styles of printmaking and collage.
