Beauty – San Francisco

The name is C-Squared and I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. As a child I always had pens, pencils, markers and erasers on me at all times and found myself drawing on anything I could find, still do. I Grew up in Denver and received artistic awards in elementary and middle school. In high school I became the first student to receive an academic letter for art in the state of Colorado, I did so for all four years of high school. I attended Metropolitan State College of Denver, and was working for a local night club where, lucky for me, the airbrush artist could not always handle painting all the performers within the time he was allotted. I took it upon myself to step in and I began to airbrush when help was needed. I became familiar with the tools and fell in love with the limitlessness of art all over again. Eventually I was given charge of body paint and from there I started working on building my own kit. Instantly I discovered my canvas could be anything, or any one for that matter. From special events to independent house calls for private parties, I have been painting for the public in many different occasions and professionally since 2002. In winter of 2006 I moved to the Bay Area to join a continuously blossoming art scene. Since living in the Bay, I've been exploring new places and people all the while gaining inspiration, obtaining new skill sets and learning to work with new media. In 2007 I started body painting for The Displayed Labors Sideshow (DLS) as a semi-regular gig. We would throw rouge art parties and work along side local artists through promotion work. Through many odd jobs and creating in my free time I found yet a new love, carpentry. In my four years as a carpenters apprentice I eventually found myself working in the theater building props and set design. Thanks to my new skills and DLS I found myself working with the Vau de Vire Society at my first Edwardian Ball in 2008. I have officially been working with the Vau de Vire Society since 2009 and am honored to be their Prop Master and Art Director. I currently live and work in West Oakland where I find myself building and creating on a regular basis at American Steel. I look forward to creating as much interesting, edgy, mutant and beautiful artwork as I can for the rest of my life.
