Fashion – Raleigh

My name is Danielle and I am a self taught designer from Southern California, now residing in Cary, NC. I began sewing at age nine and since I can remember have always been into arts and crafts. My interest in fashion design began during my early teens when my mother attended FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising). I would watch her complete design assignments, became inspired by the finished products and hopped that one day I would have the opportunity to design. In 2009, I launched my first line Dollface. The name comes from making doll clothes when I was a kid because obviously one outfit wasn’t good enough for Barbie. Dollface is a fun and flirty line, utilizing comfortable cotton; jersey knit fabrics and various prints. In 2012, I decided to launch a second line, Dani Oliva, which is a high end line, specializing in sophisticated, custom sized cocktail pieces. I have always been inspired by Hollywood red carpet gowns and vintage Hollywood starlets. I love listening to any type of music. I enjoy watching movies with my fiancé; I think he has recently got me into spy and Marvel movies. Overall, I LOVE what I do and I am eager to learn more and more as I grow as a designer.
