About the Artist Danny (Dumie) Rodriguez The artist’s real name is Dumie Rodriguez, however, he goes by Danny Rodriguez. Danny was born in New York City and moved to Florida in 2007. Art has always been part of Danny’s life, he’s received many awards from elementary school though high school. He has done many works, from murals at school to doing his high school year book. After relocating to Florida in 2007, and living in Winter Park, he has been so inspired with all the art, and artists that reside in the area, that he started attending and exhibiting at art shows and selling his works. One of Danny’s latest project was the mills 50 art boxes, in which he was selected by a group of judges to create original street art on electrical boxes throughout the city. These electrical boxes are usually sore thumbs but are now artistic and beautifully decorated thanks to the works of Danny and other contributing artists. The mills 50 reception party celebrated the artists who participated and Danny was thanked by Mayor Buddy Dyer personally. Danny’s style is a mix of urban and fine art with a feel for the renaissance era. He makes paintings classy yet cool enough to say something personal about each commission.
