Who Am I... Who are we, is a better way to describe my life... though it is through my own self exploration that "I" am shaped, it is "we" that is ultimately affected by my movements in this reality as we choose to see it... ok now that, that is clear my name is James Paul Deans I was born and raised in a beautiful little place called Merced California, "The Gateway To Yosemite" and home to CA newest UC (UC Meced 2005)... growing up I was always very imaginative, but music was not very important to me... I was more into sports, baseball to be exact ( which taught me the power of a team and how they work together) Weird Al Yankovich would be the first music I remember owning as mine... my parents played a lot of Crosby, Stills, Nash, Hendrix, Doors and so on... my friends Michael Jackson and George Michael... it really wasnt' until 5th grade one week my friend gave me "Smokin In The Boys Room" Motley Crue and the next week "As Nasty as they wanna be" 2Live Crew... and a new found love for Rap music... I listened to a heavy dose of Ganster Rap.. until 1993 when I was introduced to Freestyle Fellowship out of LA, and then heard Blackaliscious out of SF with DJ Shadow as well and that was the transformation from Rap to the understanding of the culture of HIP HOP and how it has changed the world for ever.. because of Hip Hop... there are Millions of young adults all over the world who believe in themselves on a level no one has know before...the honesty and raw talent that the hip hop culture develops in a person is blessing to say the least.. it teaches team work as well as self discipline and self mastery, mind, body and spirit... since then for the past 15 years under the name Destructo Bunny (chosen in a time when I felt MTV and the mainstream media where really projecting a dark image to kids on the tv... marilyn manson and such had just really hit the scene.. and I felt I had to fight fire with fire) so >>> I have performed with Freestyle Fellowship and Blackaliscious, The Living Legends, KRS ONE, Zion I, Talib Kweli, One Block Radius, Bluprint and many many more... I book the show, I make the flyer, I promote the show.. I run sound, I stage manage and perform...
