Visual Art – Toronto

Hailing from Kitchener, Ontario and now residing in Toronto, Meek is a multi-disciplinary artist known for - but not limited by - abstract expressionism and pop art. He experiments with experience based projects that include performance, music, and tactile art and more. He is passionate toward social issues and human rights. As an artist, he is a loud supporter of the strange, the provocative, the rough and the rowdy. His work has been featured in various group shows, including Sketch’s 20th Anniversary and Annual Rad Grads, Dirty Talk Art Partys, and What The F: Feminist Art from the Margins and Intersections. He was a panel speaker at the latter, which was a satellite show of Toronto’s Feminist Art Conference 2017. He has also recently been published in Workman Art’s ‘Firsts, Starts & Beginnings’ and is a member of the Neighborhood Arts Network. His current and long standing project entitled “I Am Okay,” is an immersive and interactive collection addressing the societal glamorization of medication and internalized issues relating to mental health, identity, body image and addiction. He is currently adding multimedia components to this highly contrasted collection, such as stream-of-consciousness spoken word, interactive activities, music, and installments.
