Music – San Diego

Elaine Faye, is an up and coming soul shaker, groove maker and heart strings manipulator based out of San Diego/Los Angeles California. Her music blends two parts soul, to one part pop, with a tea spoon of folk creating a unique and interesting take on laid back southern California soul. Elaine’s music is best described as gumbo pot of artists such as Lauryn Hill, Adele, India Arie, Janelle Monae and Amos Lee. Elaine has spent the past 4 years developing her sound and sharing her heart piece by piece, song by song, with audiences that grasp her music for positive encouragement and an emotional connection. She has been featured in several independent magazines such as Haute and Usoul as well as having features in several popular music blogs including Pongid, Skope, and USA4Real. Elaine’s music can be heard on numerous local and internet radio stations and now in the air if you happen to be flying Delta Airlines. Furthermore she recently had the pleasure of playing at the Ford Amphitheater for a high profile charity event, in addition to performing on the style network reality series, Ruby. She a Maurice’s Small Town Sound finalist, the California Hard Rock battle of the bands winner (March 2011) and is sponsored by MTV. Constantly hitting the road with a high energy interactive show, Elaine and the band perform at an array of different locations, and has since had the opportunity to open for Katherine McPhee, Honey Honey, Six Pence None the Richer, Tristan Prettyman, and Terra Naomi. Combining acoustic and full band performances while integrating the latest horrifying public transportation experience, Elaine is successfully building a strong buzz creating a continuously growing and dedicated fan base. Elaine is a recent graduate of the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA, which she attended after being awarded one of three full ride scholarships given out after competing in a nationwide contest. Her first LP Matters Of The Heart was released in Spring 2010 and her forthcoming EP is set to be released late 2011.
