Emetic Art

I\'m a freelance visual artist currently based in Melbourne (previously Sunshine Coast/Brisbane). I paint weird and wonderful things on skateboards and bits of wood, as well as designing my range of T-shirts. An \'emetic\' is a drug that induces vomiting. My art is my \'mental vomit\'- all the ideas and thoughts that form in the deepest parts of my mind, continuously mutating until I let them all out. My work has been described as ‘dark’ and ‘twisted’, although I believe that while my art may portray macabre themes, the overall discourse is usually quite positive. Art is how I get the most out of my life. I can create my own world within what I paint. My own world, where poo is fluoro pink, everything is cute and ugly at the same time, there are no rules. I like adorable things, sweet colours and happy endings. I am a big fan of cartoons. I’m a hopeless romantic and a big softie. But I also love horror, slasher films, monsters and the supernatural. I act like a ten year old boy a lot of the time; I get a kick out of farts and boogers and can be a little inappropriate and maybe a bit immature. My art reflects who I am. My art IS who I am.
