Visual Art – Detroit
Detroit local artist in residence and curator at The Forge Detroit artist community, Fioza Leigh has spent the past year working on their ability to bring community and artists together to start deeper conversations about the authentic self and the importance of mental health. They focus specifically on helping to break the stigma around Dissociative Identity Disorder (fka Multiple Personality Disorder) after having been diagnosed two years ago themselves. All four members of their system– Adam, Vvyi, Ash, and Zephyr– express their unique selves and experiences to show a window into what it's like living multiple.
With an associates in Digital Imaging and Illustration, they have worked in animation, marketing, digital painting and compositing, photography, film, and traditional illustration. They are continuing their education in Creative Writing for Entertainment at Full Sail University to continue honing their craft of passing on inspiration through storytelling.
