Freya

Freya is an art collective bringing together female inspired + female created art. Founded by two friends who met travelling through Central America individually taking soul searching to the next level, Megan and Claire soon crossed paths and instantly became best friends. Creating art together has been a grounding and connecting experience. We use a variety of mediums and canvas' from watercolor, acrylic, ink to wood burning we don't believe in limiting our creative potential to just one and have fun experimenting with all. Our art is inspired by the female form and revolves around the beauty of nature, women empowerment and embracing our ‘imperfections’. Like the nordic goddess Freya, our work portrays the relationship + respect we hold for ourselves and the natural world around us. Ideas of vulnerability and the nude form encourage us to challenge our perceptions of beauty and provocativism.
