Visual Art – Austin

I'm a versatile artist working in many mediums, navigating motherhood and wife-hood while piecing together an art business and eventually an art school. I love teaching art, and I strive to solve riddles encountered in life through painting rough, abstracted memories, then fine-tuning them with playful lines, adding depth and focus to the simplest of paintings. I am deeply connected to faith and nature in my artwork, you can look for spiritual themes in many of my pieces. I grew up in Olathe/Overland Park, Kansas and caught the "farm girl" bug early in life - I still get weak in the knees at the remembrance of bass fishing in my Grandpa's pond. I went on to get my BFA from Oklahoma Baptist University where I was awarded the Outstanding Senior Artist Award. Eventually I found myself in Austin, TX where I showed my artwork in various places, met and eloped with my husband, and made babies soon after. Now, when not in my home art studio, I volunteer at the Buda Public Library facilitating free art classes on the 3rd Thursday of each month, and spend my time cultivating a love of exploration with my 2 small children while making coffee and kombucha with my husband. I also teach at Painting With a Twist at Southpark Meadows. I am versatile in many art forms, including murals for home and workplace and customizing art workshops for your people/space. I am currently accepting commissions.
