Grant Jacoby

Performing Art – Boston

Grant Jacoby was born in raised in Wellesley, Massachusetts, where he began his dance training at the Kathy McCrohon Dance Center and as a featured dancer in countless musicals. Grant graduated Magna Cum Laude from Connecticut College in 2013, where he received his BA in Dance and Theater. He also studied at Trinity/La MaMa Uraban Arts Semester, MADE in France, and Movement Workshop Group\'s Graham Intensive Dance Collective. While an undergrad, Grant performed in works by Lisa Race, Heidi Henderson, and numerous student pieces, while also having the pleasure of working with such distinguished artists as David Dorfman, Adele Myers, Michael Burke, Peter Savel, David Marchant, Susan Connelly, and Shani Collins-Achille. Grant has performed and/or presented work at La MaMa ETC, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Green Street Studios, Les Champs Melisey, AUNTS/Arts@Renaissance, American College Dance Festival, Trinity Performance Lab, Connecticut College, and with Obie Award-Winning Peculiar Works Project. He has also performed in numerous theatrical productions, such as The Rocky Horror Show, Macbeth, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, A Chorus Line, and the world premiere of Friday the 13th: The Musical. Grant founded Avalanche Dance Theater in October 2013 and currently dances for Mariah Steele/Quicksilver Dance, as well as other Boston-based artists.
