Music – Phoenix
I\'ve lived a life full of passion for too many things. It\'s a gift and a curse, but music prevails and I can\'t stop. I studied opera at NAU until falling in love with jazz. I got cold feet when I graduated in 2010, and worked a series of comfortable jobs until finding employment at a treatment center for troubled youth. They learned quickly of my music background and insisted on mini performances every shift, boosting my confidence and restoring my relationship with music. It was my job to teach them how to have goals and dreams, and in the process I met great hypocrisy with my own suppressed wishes. They encouraged me to pursue music, and I decided to listen. I now sing all over the valley with several groups including a jazz trio, \"The Wrecking Crew\" and a hip hop collaborative, \"The Stakes.\" I also have a solo vocal looping project that I include in my performances. In the past year I\'ve invested much of my time creating and learning unique and adventurous arrangements of familiar tunes, but now I\'m finally composing my own music with plans to make a debut album within the next year.
