House of Quirk

Visual Art – Brisbane

In the last 18 months I've picked up my paintbrushes again. Acrylic is my primary medium, perfect for the bold colours I like to use. I've always been interested in faces, have drawn them since a child, however currently I'm well stuck into painting fruit, and also exploring similarities between maths concepts and biblical concepts. Things like infinity and eternity, shapes in higher dimensions and whether God is in the higher dimensions. The things that keep your mind ticking over at 3 am instead of doing 'useful' things like sleeping. Maybe sleep deprivation causes these thoughts. I like to study the opposite dynamics in peoples world views, we all have them, I find them interesting and good material for paintings. It causes conversation, and it's good to stop and think about why we think what each of us thinks. Then I also just like to paint pretty things like flowers. I've also started experimenting with some surreal style landscapes to portray various thoughts on hope and overcoming trials in life. So I think on all these things and paint the pictures that come to mind and have a lovely old time doing so. Much love, Sarah, the House of Quirk.
