The psychological term “idee fixe” is defined on Wikipedia as a construct “so powerful as to render any other ideas or life projects meaningless”. Art is my idee fixe. I come from a family of artists and creative people. My mother was an artist and, at an early age, I would sit transfixed as she would experiment with watercolors, acrylics, oil paints and the occasional wood sculpture.
