Johanna Guerin - Milliner

Johanna began her millinery training in 1998 at the Moreton Institute of TAFE, Brisbane, Australia, under the tutelage of renowned Australian milliner, Elizabeth R . She developed and refined her skills in the traditional methods of model millinery and blocking, which gave her the foundations on which to create her own millinery style whilst further developing her interest in costume and soft-prop design & construction while continuing to design and make couture millinery. She has spent time in London where she displayed her work at Covent Garden and exclusive millinery boutiques in Richmond-Upon-Thames, Fulham, and Bristol, and at The Hat Shop in New York City. Now operating from South East Queensland, Johanna's work looks to provide not only the perfect adornment for race days and special occassions, but also as a means of self expression any day, any time. In addition to designing and making individual special occasion headware, Johanna works as a costume milliner, and teaches millinery workshops with QLD Museums.
