Hello, I started taking photos at a very early age and have been shooting in a few different states and in many different countries, in some very diverse conditions, in and out of the water. I was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; I moved to Dillon, Colorado at the age of 19, where I groomed ski slopes in the Rocky Mountains, operating snow cats for 9 years and skiing with no regard for life, what so ever. Eventually, it dawned on me that, I needed to make some changes before the lifestyle ended me, so I moved too Santa Cruz, Ca. in early 1989, started building houses and became obsessed with mastering beach volleyball. Years later, due to multiple injuries, I no longer undertake either endeavor, which at the time was brutal, I was crushed and lost. This is when I made the best career decision of my life, I went back to school where, I studied several subjects and multiple levels of photography classes. I was voted third best artistic/ photographer in Santa Cruz county, proceeding my first year as full time photographer, which was in 2013 (mainly because of my work with whales ) also, I think I have a really good chance of winning first place for 2014, I will find out in March, 2015 . I am extremely passionate about my photography and capturing unique moments in time, capturing God’s astounding beauty. :) Hopefully bringing more ecological awareness to the world!
