Kalysta Fellines

Visual Art – Sacramento

My name is Kalysta Fellines and I am a 21 year old self-taught fine artist, illustrator, and storyteller from Elk Grove, California. I am mainly a painter of watercolors and acrylics but I also enjoy illustrating with graphite. My favorite subjects are women and animals, from witches and faeries to Nature spirits and anthropomorphized creatures. My works are influenced by my Greek heritage, my love and knowledge of mythology and folklore, and my spirituality which helps me to see magic in the world around me. Therefore, my art comes to life through the incorporation of ancient mysticism, the sacredness of Nature, and divine feminine energy. I like to explore natural dichotomies and cycles in my art: the magical in the mundane, the divine feminine vs. the divine masculine, the ebb and flow of the seasons, and the everpresent cycle of life, death, transformation, and rebirth. I also indulge in hours upon hours of tiny yet meditative details which weave together like a tapestry to make a piece beautiful visually as well as tell a layered story. Each of my pieces have a deeper meaning whether they are based on an ancient tale, something I saw in a dream, or somewhere in between. I have a pure passion for creating and storytelling which is why my artwork is always packed with symbolism and accompanied by in-depth stories. My little art world, as I call it, is always being further explored and expanded upon.
