Karen Dale

Karen’s paintings are expressions of pure elemental energy. She paints them with her fingers, playing the canvas like a drum. There are often many layers, multi-faceted like the wall of a cave. The texture of the paint is thick like sculpture, inviting touch. The energy of each painting moves in many directions. She orients it the first way, but often people who live with her work end up hanging it in a different direction. We tell people to turn the painting in all four directions to find out which direction the energy moves for them.
