Karly Larson

I am a creative individual who originally hails from Southern California, and now resides in the San Francisco Bay Area. I earned my degree at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where I became fascinated with photographing and studying people. I enjoy interacting with other artists and inspired minds to create unique and meaningful objects of self expression, be it imagery, music, or a piece of research. After working in the Fashion and art industry for 7 years and wishing to expand on my interest in social and environmental responsibility, I began pursuing an master\'s in Sociology at San Jose State University in addition to my photographic work. I believe that technological advances and the proliferation of imagery can and does have profound impacts on society, and as imagemakers we have a responsibility of honesty to the consumers of our work. While my work in the past has tended towards the whimsical, I hope this new pursuit will help me to push the boundaries of what is accepted as beautiful.
