Accessories – Calgary

Hello! My name is Kimberley Degenstein. I am an Indigenous artisan, born and raised in Calgary Alberta I’ve always had a passion for designing and artwork. I come from a very creative and artistic family. I’ve always since I was small drawn, painted and designed different kinds of creations. This was a huge part of who I was growing up. In 2010 I was in a near fatal car accident and my back was severely damaged, having this major setback stopped me from being remotely close to the person I knew I was or used to be. Years of surgeries and therapy halted me from creating anything for a very long time. In 2015 I started having numbness in my left hand which led to a diagnosis of MS. Coming from a family of very spiritual believers I started a path of getting back to myself. I had always collected Dreamcatchers and on a search of finding something new to my collection I decided to create my own. I wasn’t ready to lose my hands and by sitting and designing my own Dreamcatchers I slowly started moving my mind into my own sort of Zen zone. Where I can sit and create for hours on end pushing the pain down and during those times nothing matters to me more than connecting with each piece I make. Each of my creations has natural gemstones incorporated throughout the designs. I love the process of creating my pieces, I love when someone else matches with one of my catchers, knowing that my pieces will go on to carry my strength and love onto someone else keeps me going - with no plan to stop. :)
