Performing Art – Boston

Kimo (born Hakim Hill) is a Spoken Word poet from the neighborhood Roxbury in the city of Boston, Ma. The creative outlet ran in his family with his older siblings delving in Hip Hop, professional tap dancing, and singing. Poetry, however, was not Kimo’s first love. When he was in the sixth grade, his English teacher introduced him to writing stories. This is a skill he’d work on for years to come. Slowly over time, he started writing poetry especially during the rise of Def Poetry. After becoming a staple at his university during his undergrad years, Kimo’s ambition is to spread his intense, passion filled poetry to the rest of world. He represented his school during Boston College’s poetry festival. He published a chapbook of poetry titled Room 615 and his latest offering \"Cinematic Mind: The Eternal Search\" has won the poetry award at the Paris Book Festival as well as an honorable mention at the San Francisco Book Festival.
