Conan Karpinski / Andrew Dixon / Dallyn Hunt / Tim Morrison Little India is a band consisting of four friends whose success unfolded unexpectedly after coming together to play music just two years ago. Their worldly influence is heard through unique hooks and samples, and can be credited to the combination of their South African and Canadian heritages with a strong British influence. In their short yet explosive career, their sound has been described as nostalgic rock with 80’s pop influences. Jon Siddall (CBC Music) explains it as “The Cure meets Talking Heads.” With the perfect harmony of funk rock and electronic sampling, their ever-changing sound keeps listeners on their toes and allows for experimentation in the character of each song, all the while keeping you dancing. Their climbing success has been driven by their debut EP, Up All Night, resulting in winning both ‘The Shore 104.3 FM’s Best of BC’ and ‘CFOX’s Seeds Competition’ in 2014, as well as ascending into the top 12 of the 2015 "Peak Performance Project" hosted by The Peak 102.7. “Up All Night” was released November 19th 2013, and was mixed by Michael Brauer (Coldplay, Rolling Stones, Atlas Genius, The Vaccines, and many more). With close to a million spins on Spotify, and an eye grabbing first music video, Little India has gained steady international attention from fans and industry professionals. Their song ‘Sleep’ has been spun on U.K.’s BBC and BC’s The Zone, while ‘Oola’ has received over 50,432 streams on SoundCloud, followed with a music video released on July 21st, 2015. Conan Karpinski (lead vocals, guitar), Andrew Dixon (bass, vocals), and Dallyn Hunt (drums) are now busy working on their follow-up EP, “Neon Jungle,” to be released in spring of 2016, which will debut their progressive sound. Little India also played Squamish Valley Music Festival in August of 2015, following up on their Canadian tour with Irish group KODALINE in May.
