Visual Art – Omaha

I don’t believe in real; real already exists. I believe in whimsical because it is something I can create that doesn’t already exist. I'm a whimsical artist: I take the realities of life and make fun of them in a lighthearted way. To put it simply, art is my beautiful escape from everything bad in the world. I try to speak a message through each of the pieces I make. Oftentimes, the messages in my art are my own personal life lessons. I believe that art is very purposeful in our lives, and without it, our world would cease to exist. There is an art behind everything, from the occupations we take up to the way that we love and treat one another. So many times I think that a piece is finished, but then I take a deeper look at it, and think of something I could do to make it better, and so I change it a little. In fact, much of my art is made like that. I derive an idea for a piece and take the necessary twists and turns of the path to create it. Along this path, the idea becomes a totally different piece than I thought it would be. But, that is how life goes: just when we think of how we should go about life's path, the twists and turns lead us somewhere entirely different. If there is only one thing that you take in after viewing my art, I hope that it is this lesson: the aesthetics of life lie in the hearts of each of us.
