Melinda Klein

Photography – Chicago

"Melinda Klein is a Chicago based photographer that aims to capture the beauty in the world around her. Experienced in everything from nature photography, to glamour photography, and capturing wildlife, Melinda has a photographic eye that is one of a kind. Her signature look captures the essence of the moment, is full of vivid color, contrast and clarity. Her passion for life and her photography is emulated through her colorful, vivid photographs. She is a self-taught digital and film photographer, who prides herself on learning through experience. She grew up all around the country, living across the midwest and the east coast. It was living in these vastly different places, from cities, to suburbs, to rural areas, that inspired her love for such diverse areas of photography. She was inspired to start taking photographs professionally when she moved to Chicago in 2007 in her sophomore year of college. She started off using a friends professional film camera, and eventually worked her way up to buying her first professional Digital SLR camera in the summer of 2008. She experimented with her new DSLR camera for about a year and a half and started shooting more seriously in the beginning of 2010, where she attended various workshops in nature and fashion photography. Even as a kid, she loved taking photos of everything with her Kodak disposable cameras. It is experience and background that makes her who she is as a photographer. Melinda's biggest passion is wildlife and nature photography. Most of her wildlife photography was taken in zoos and aquariums. She photographs the animals to look as though they were shot in nature, and most people assume that her photographs were shot in the wild. Melinda dreams of one day taking photos for National Geographic. Photography is not just a career choice that Melinda wants to continue with, it is a way of life for her. She dreams of traveling the world and capturing it on her camera, telling stories of her travels through vivid and beautiful photographs. All the same, it is her passion for photography, along with her vivid imagination and rare talent that makes Melinda the photographer she is today."
