Michelle Murillo

Beauty – San Diego

My name is Michelle Murillo and I am a licensed Cosmetologist. I attended Paul Mitchell the school San Diego and graduated on the Deans list with a 100.23% attendance rate, which in turn I received 8 consecutive awards for outstanding attendance and an overall average of 99.9%. I completed cutting honors, color honors, texture honors, and makeup honors. Because of this I had the privilege of being awarded Visionary of the week while in school due to my everlasting drive and compassion. I participated in the 245 hour advanced makeup program which allowed me to become a certified makeup artist. In turn, I became a makeup mentor twice in a row for the program to help the next two classes that would attend after me. Not only did I mentor for the makeup program but I also had the privilege of being a core mentor for those who newly entered the Cosmetology program. While attending school I also participated in student council, design team, take home team, Be Nice or Else club, green team, John Paul pet club, and the social networking club. Because I took part in every team while in school, I had several opportunities to put my talents to work whether it be in school or out. These opportunities included: Doing Hair and Makeup for Bridal Bazaar at San Diego Convention Center, Macy’s Fashion Show in La Jolla at the Hyatt Aventine, Miss Poway pageant,The Princess Project at the South Chula Vista Library, USO center in San Diego, the La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival at UCSD, Globalicious charity fashion show etc. I also volunteered in several braid bars at La Jolla high school, Claremont high school, Serra high school, Sharp Women’s EXPO at the Sheraton San Diego hotel and marina, NCL Dreamcatcher mother daughter tea at Coasterra in Harbor Island, Super Girl Surf Pro in Oceanside, Hermosa Beach for women’s volleyball tournament, smart girls event at the boys and girls club in valley center, etc. While in school I took extra classes and became certified in eyelash extensions and hair extensions and took a course to train my eyes and became a certified Eyes on Cancer ambassador. It was and still is very important to further my knowledge and education in any way possible. Because education is so valuable to me, I attended Caper 2018 and also competed in the Caper 2018 student makeup competition. Competing in the competition inspired me to also enter NAHA and BEACON, in which I was an honorable mention for. My goal is to work in the union and do hair and/or makeup on TV and Film sets in Los Angeles. I am hoping to work on productions and follow my dreams as a professional makeup artist.
