Performing Art – Sydney

French woman coming from Reunion Island where music and dance are such a strong part of our culture, dance always had a important place in my life. I started to study dance in high school. At that time I wanted to explore contemporary dance, classical dance ,jazz and ballet. I participated to shows and competitions all around my little Island. After my high school diploma in arts and litterature , I started to practice traditional African dance. One of my very first African dance show was quite historical as I 've danced for the commemoration of the end of slavery in my Island. Such an intense moment! That show means a lot to me as I really expressed myself and realized that African dance was my crush - the dance that liberates me and make me feel strong, powerful and good in my body and my soul ,plus it makes people happy and joyful - I love it.
