Music – Victoria

My name is Miranda Mark and I was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon. Growing up in a small northern town with long and cold winters I found inspiration for my music. I was influenced by a lot of oldies music that my father listened to such as: The Beatles, Del Shannon, The Beach Boys, The Traveling Wilburys, and a lot others. My music genre is indie folk. I like telling stories with my songs that everyone can connect with at some point in their lives. In September of 2015 I took a three-month Singer-songwriter program at Langara College, Vancouver B.C. The program helped me develop my music style and find my voice as well as connecting with many amazing young artists. After completing that program and returning home I got the opportunity to record some of my original tracks with the local band "The Midnight Suns" as well as performing a couple of gigs with them. Throughout the years I have been writing and singing on and off. My most recent little project was singing and recording tracks for my sister Naomi Mark's documentary "How to Bee" in the summer of 2018. I have lived in Victoria for two years now attending school and have fallen in love with the city. The close proximity of the ocean and mountains make me feel right at home.
