Based in New York City, Marcela is swiftly making a name for herself amongst her peers and audience. As a native of Brazil, she grew up studying ballet, contemporary and Brazilian folk dance. In 2008 she began her aerial circus studies at Florida Circus School. Her immense talent and hard work soon brought career opportunities in musical theater productions such as “Chicago,” “Hair,” and “A Chorus Line.” Realizing that she could broaden her career path in New York, she began studying modern dance technique at Martha Graham School in 2014. Since then, she has been a part of Ruddur Dance Company ,“Fuerza Bruta”, and the documentary “Chave Paraiso”in addition to starring in the award winning music video “Fade Away”(Ben Krishenbaum). Marcela also took part in The Miami Salsa Congress, Queens Dance Festival and the Dance4life Festival in Jamaica. In Bangkok, Thailand she taught commissioned aerial workshops that broadened the horizon of her teaching and aerial abilities. From her eclectic talent she combines elements of latin and modern dance with aerial circus that give her an edge on the competition. She was awarded first place in “Duo Lyra” at the 2017 Aerial Arts Association “Fog City” Competition. In 2018, Marcela produced her multi-disciplinary show “The Broken Hallelujah”. Marcela was awarded a grant to produce her first show in 2015, when she created “Devaneio”. In 2018, She produced her second production called “The Broken Hallelujah”. In the meantime she she has performed in the Ruddur Dance,“Fuerza Bruta”, and the documentary “Chave Paraiso”in addition to starring in the award winning music video “Fade Away”(Ben Krishenbaum).
