Lila Gemellos

Visual Art – San Jose

Lila Gemellos began selling her shoes out of Starbucks Coffee Shops, other Silicon Valley Cafes and off of Facebook in 2009. A San Jose product, Gemellos grew up in the Evergreen neighborhood and has deep roots in her community. This is the same community she works and participates in, painting in the Evergreen School District. Her shoes caught the attention of many and one week later, Gemellos had orders written on Starbucks napkins for custom Vans. Within a year, she had so many orders, she needed to devote her full attention to them. This gave her a jumping off point for her true passion, painting murals. Lila has been featured in the San Jose Mercury News and on the cover of Bay Area News Group papers in April 2012 for her artwork at the Falafel Drive In located at 2301 Stevens Creek Boulevard. Gemellos has been enjoying not only painting for schools, but also teaching private art classes as well as teaching as an expert in the classroom. She has had amazing teachers and art instructors, and she feels a commitment to give back. Gemellos also works on a jewelry line titled \"World Coin Jewelry\", turning coins and priceless memories into beautiful jewelry.
