Phoebe Paradise

Fashion – Brisbane

\"Local artist Phoebe Paradise has been making intricate and eye-catching artwork for years and now she has released a range of her designs on shirts and tote bags that are available online and at select stockists. Phoebe Paradise’s art career began from a young age when her love for drawing and illustration took hold and became a driving creative force in her life. The Fortitude Valley-based artist is influenced heavily by her surroundings, responding to the visual prompts of inner-city living in her detailed illustrations. Today, Phoebe’s art can be seen in an increasing number of places – exhibitions, band posters, comics, zines and most recently t-shirts. After receiving dozens of requests for hand drawn t-shirts, the idea to print and sell her work in wearable form emerged. Sensing a disconnect between art buyers and emerging artists, Phoebe decided to create accessible items that people could interact with physically and visually. Phoebe has worked with Matt Deasy from No.7 Printhouse and fashion designer Vanessa Flynn to create a line of t-shirts and tote bags that feature brand new Phoebe Paradise artwork created specifically for the collection. Pizzas, anthropomorphic hot dogs, crustaceans and floral imagery adorn the shirts, which are unisex and come in a range of sizes. Phoebe’s shirts and tote bags can be purchased online or at Junky Comics in West End. Keep an eye out in the future for a new line of skirts and handbags, as well as new comic releases and exhibitions later in the year\"
