Visual Art – New York - NYC

Art has been a part of me as far back as I can remember. I am a self-taught landscape artist residing in Thomaston, CT. My passion for painting, are inspired by my observations of the natural world around us. Every day I am amazed by seeing nature excel and live. I am inspired by the tranquility of the natural world. This tranquility and optimism is what I hope to capture and transmit to those who view my paintings. Though I take my inspiration from nature, I have no interest in making paintings of things, but of what I see amongst me in the colors of nature and the thriving essence of everything around me. Inspired and influenced by such greats as Monet, Sohler, Ruisdaeland, and Workman; my children are my truest inspiration. I want them to see the natural world as beautifully as I do. With a self-admitted obsession for taking pictures of every landscape therein wherever and whenever the opportunity presents itself. I have to have a deep emotional connection to the photograph, either a friend, family, or I have taken, in order to paint from it. I enjoy my canvases, when my painting becomes a sort of dance and while the music plays, my painting is a process of discovery, I have a vision of what I want but often end up somewhere else and when I arrive at the end, I surprise myself. I have been painting since I was a child. I have always had a palate of bright colors. When someone else enjoys what I have created, this multiplies my pleasure immensely. When someone enjoys my paintings I feel that they have also woken up to the color around them through my paintings. Some artists like to make viewers think, I prefer to make viewers feel. I want to have the viewers of my artwork sigh and wish they could be there, to just escape for even a few minutes.
