Whitney Tai is a singer, songwriter, entertainer and designer from New York City. Somehow Tai walks the cutting edge of pop and indie without sacrificing emotional honesty. The musical result is a moving, nuanced and yet still accessible blend that turns heads. In January 2014, Tai released her first pop single “To Be Loved,” and a remix by Adrian Buster shortly after. The song received Hot Shot of the week on two FM stations in the country of Holland gaining her recognition from DJ’s and producers worldwide. Following the acclaim of her first single, Tai’s indie comeup gained licensing attention from retail radio playlist maker, Mood Media and the world's leading fashion video platform, Fashion One Television. In April 2015, Whitney dropped her first debut pop alternative album, “Metamorphosis,” written and co- produced with Billboard chart topping composer, Tim Janssens (Sunfreakz). Indie Band Guru raves, “Tai is known for her alternative dream pop music, but looking at her past, is there anything this musician can’t do,” referring to Tai as a “Musical Chameleon.” Pure Volume states in reference to her single “Falling” off her EP 'Forever', “The song accentuates the budding singer's promise and it is a strong sign of what should be a bright future for Tai.” In November of 2016, Whitney Tai and Belgian Producer, Sunfreakz (Ne-Yo, Nelly Furtado, Flo Rida), announced their collaboration on a new Electro Pop single, “Truth Be Told.” The release included a remix from Swedish producer, LA Rush (Justin Timberlake, Avicii, Gareth Emery). Her restless creative and entrepreneurial drive has expanded to include not just her colorful and vibrant personal style with smart yet accessible music, but catapulted the launch of her own visually creative lifestyle brand, GABB. I Am The Industry notes, "Tai’s grind is unmatched and she continues to demonstrate her talent and consistency as an artist." "Good At Being Bad", the namesake jazz pop track of Tai's new multimedia agency and lifestyle brand, is the first new music of the year from the budding artist. In Summer of 2017, Tai released the organic pop ballad "How Was I Supposed to Know" filmed in the the most pristine and surreal edges of the European landscape. Tai is set to release a music video for another dance collaboration entitled, “Shockwave” with Billboard hit maker, Sunfreakz this coming August. After the New York City/Boston tour of her first album, Metamorphosis, Whitney is back to work yet again on her second studio album, which fans can expect early next year. Tai has also teamed up in spring of 2017 for new duet album in spring of 2017 with rising songwriter/producer Kelsey Warren, of the lower east side Manhattan band, Blak Emoji. "I want to inspire the inner rebel in everyone to take control of their dreams and creative pathways," Tai says. This is why another summer single of 2017, a new disco-pop Spencer Garn collaboration, is called "Grow". She elaborates ,"80's and 90's pop, they had every emotion and the authenticity was there. It wasn't sterile. I want to bring substance and human connection back, even in a digital world."
