Lou Burton

Photography – Miami

Born and raised in rural Southwestern Pennsylvania’s wide open spaces, Lou Burton had the ideal childhood of a Norman Rockwell painting, playing baseball with his brother and endless summer nights catching fireflies. Besides an obsession with collecting thousands of crayons as a child, art was always a passing idea. It wasn’t until enrolling in The Art Institute of Pittsburgh for a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising in 2005 that Art became a focus for Lou. At the same time he began working at an art and frame shop while pursuing a career in photojournalism in the Air Force Reserve. In 2006, he received his first commission to develop an in-store advertisement for a financial institution. Since then, Lou has developed photos, graphics, and artwork for online retailers, the U.S Air Force, blogs, private collectors, and an orchid nursery. His work varies from photography, graphic design, collages, painting in oil and water color, and pencil sketching. He also develops finished work encompassing two or more of these mediums.
