Photography – Montréal

Trained as a photographer, Jeff Malo is a producer, director and digital visual artist. Graduating from Marsan College in 2012, he quickly specialized in light painting, a technique he is passionate about and for which he received an award at the International Light Painting Awards. He also received a LUX award, this time for his documentary photography after His Excellency Robert Peck invited him to document the refugee crisis in Greece, in collaboration with Lynda Thalie. Three years later, he held an exhibition at Galerie 203 in Old Montreal. After serving as artistic director of Le Lab Espace Créatif in collaboration with Box Expérience and Cr34te, Jeff Malo innovated by integrating his digital art techniques into large-scale shows, presenting live art in a highly contemporary context, while working to diversify and perpetuate it. He is currently perfecting his skills in live light painting and VJ-ing, and has been invited to collaborate with the group Niyaz in Los Angeles. He signed the closing show of the Festival mode et Design de Montréal in 2022 and the projection of one of his creations at MINUTE_MAPP MTL 2022. In Quebec and abroad, his self-produced shows and events are to be watched in the coming years. Light painting is a photographic technique in which luminous objects are drawn in space during a photo or video over a long period of time.
