Mark Laurie

Since 1979 I have been creating art with my camera. I have two main paths. There is the wall art that I have an eclectic approach to. There is not a "look" or easy style to reference or be known for. I use my creative tools to let the image speak its own language. A bit zen I suppose, this approach keeps me engaged. Still I do return some subjects, like butterflies, flowers and abstracts. Then there has been what has dominated, and still does, my creative focus and professional depth: photographing women. Mostly, these are commissioned portraits of nude or boudoir women. My developed approach is to use my photography as an empowerment process for women. Women come for empowerment, confidence, body embracing, and adventure.
