MassArt Fashion Design

Fashion – Boston

About MassArt: MassArt Fashion Design was established in 1907, and is one of the oldest fashion programs in the United States. MassArt’s Fashion Design department takes advantage of its geographic location in the education and innovation hub that is Boston, to provide unique learning opportunities and access for its students and a culturally rich and technologically advanced experience. The fashion department encourages students to find their unique voice as a designer and their place in the exciting field of fashion design. About the Designers: Ross Higgins is a fashion and costume designer currently based in Connecticut. Ross has a long held belief that everyone deserves to be their own main character and should dress to match. He embraces the excessive, dramatic, and experimental, specializing in extravagant, and abundant detail, but also in adaptability and a versatile skill set. More than anything he loves to create. In their free time they enjoy other creative pursuits including drawing, music making, and cosplay. Leah Prodigalidad is a fashion designer and fiber artist based in Massachusetts. Inspired by their Filipino heritage and maximalist styles, Leah creates fashion pieces ranging from ready to wear, costume, to couture garments. They employ a vibrant and personable attitude to bring their unique and inclusive perspective into their garments. Through their brand Thornpetal, they strive to make someone feel like the best version of themselves by exploring personal identity in an ever changing world. She strongly believes that we should wear to express, not to impress. Anah Y. Booms is a fashion designer specializing in sustainability in Massachusetts. She is often inspired by her personal experiences from growing up on Nantucket Island, surrounded by nature. Their most recent thesis work revolves around natural dyes, as they expand on their understanding of nature and how humans interact and perceive it. Molly Susan is a fashion designer and multimedia artist currently based in Massachusetts as she completes her final year at MassArt. She finds inspiration in contrast, turmoil, emotion, and storytelling, using mixed media within her pieces as a means of expression and telling those stories.
