Doorgirlvibe, Melissa Mather

Mather is a multidisciplinary conceptual artist who uses pencils and charcoal, as well as coloured pens and chalk in her drawings. With her paintings, she does not always use a paintbrush to apply the acrylics and mixed media on canvas or found surfaces. Hard lines and bold colours shout out in both her paintings and drawings. Expressionistic realism drawing; abstract maximalist imaginative painting. A music-inspired flow is found in the high-contrasted lines of exaggerated features she conceptualizes from memory and photographs.
