Performing Art – Nashville

I was born and raised in Nashville and have grown up surrounded by so many amazing performing artists such as Stacie FloodPop, Naomi Enfae, Chaz Ryan, and Travis Cooper. They along with many others shaped my early dance education, dreams, and aspirations. At Nashville School of the Arts my love for choreography and performing came to life my senior year and I won the Choreography Award. Throughout my undergraduate dance degree journey at MTSU I had the privilege of leading the Student Gala for three years. I love mentoring fellow choreographers and producing a full dance concert and the Student Gala allowed me and my fellow studnets create work and understand what it means to be a choreographer. After college I was curious about other styles of dance and realized I never learned social or ballroom dancing. I took a full time dance teaching job at National Dance Clubs for 6 years and learned so many styles while teaching adults who have never danced before! I got the privilege of choreographing winning routines, traveling to completions and presenting work at showcases. Today, I am independent dance teacher and artist! I have the privilege of combining so many different dance passions! I teach adults ballroom, wedding couples their first dance, and children’s ballet, tap, and hip hop classes. I’m also in the process of getting my pilates certification and my goal is to help any moving body, but especially dancers, feel balanced, strong, and capable in their bodies! In my spare time I take dance class at Metro Parks Dance, Mellinium Dance Complex, and Dance East! My goals are to find a balance in life that allows me to still choreograph and perform for myself. I am extremely grateful for RAW and the opportunity to create and perform. Merde to all the artists! Xoxo - Rae
