Performing Art – Philadelphia
Tiana Sanders is a teaching dance artist and choreographer from Wilmington, Delaware. Currently, she is the dance educator in the Philadelphia School District. Tiana received her Associate's degree in General Business from Delaware Technical Community College, and she is a graduate of Temple University, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance. She is also certified to teach Umfundalai as she is M'Singha Wuti is certified in the technique. Tiana received her training at Christina Cultural Arts Center (CCAC) in Wilmington, Delaware. She is currently a dance instructor teaching Ballet, Modern, and Hip-Hop there. Tiana was one of the choreographers in The University of Delaware's Suite Blackness: Black Dance in Cinema (2023). At Temple University, she received the Rose Vernick BFA Choreography Award and was the winning choreographer for The Wilmington Public Library's 1st annual Dancing With The Delaware Stars gala in March 2022. She trained under Dara Meredith, LaCeda Nelson, Raye Jones Avery, Kyle Clark, Kun-Yang Lin, Shawn Lamere Williams, and Charon Mapp and has worked with various choreographers including Ephrat Asherie, Megan Bridge, Marion Ramirez, and Dr. Lynnette Young Overby.
