Chriselle Tidrick/Above And Beyond Dance

Chriselle Tidrick founded Above and Beyond Dance in 2007. A former competitive gymnast, she has performed extensively as a dancer and stilt dancer with various New York based companies. She has also choreographed dance work, stilt work, and aerial work. Her interest lies in merging modern dance with circus arts, and she feels there is a huge range of untapped potential in this blend. Chriselle successfully produced \"RAW,\" the Above and Beyond Dance 2011 season of circus-infused dance at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center; \"Ascendance,\" the company’s 2009 season at The Flea Theater in lower Manhattan; and \"Seeking,\" its inaugural season at Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts in downtown Brooklyn (2008). Her work has also been shown in the New York area at: NYC Aerial Dance Festival 2011 (Manhattan Movement & Arts Center and LaGuardia Performing Arts Center), NYC Aerial Dance Festival 2010 (JCC Theater), Dixon Place, Galapagos ArtSpace, Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Streb Lab for Action Mechanics, Sky Box (at the House of Yes), La Mama Moves Festival 2009, Spoke the Hub, WaxWorks, The Zipper Theater, University Settlement, Micro Museum, The Surrey at Skidmore College, The Belt Theater and BRIC. Her company and choreography were also featured in BMC Films\' short film, \"Eastern Winds.\"
