Adrian Parks is a rarely found artist that utilizes graphite on canvas based out of Los Angeles, California. Her art captures the familiar vibrations from an inner depth connecting to a humane visual aspect. Each piece was created in a meditative space and archived in the moment. With the use of the rough textures of canvas and smooth laying of graphite with the added smearing of her finger tips, ultimately gives birth to each creation. Adrian credits her life experiences as well as emotional connections to so many faces as the ultimate inspiration. This path to artistry started from the age of 10 in Omaha, Nebraska. Her mother, also an artist, inspired Adrian’s curiosity of drawing and of learning through her own will to create. Without guidelines from other artists or any formal instruction Adrian continues to find organic inspiration from herself and her connection with life itself. Her depth of feeling brings viewers immediately to an awareness of observing the gradients of emotion and inner thought that are normally felt and not seen. Now, Adrian’s latest creations have embodied her original pieces and style however with a twist. Added body and bone as well as growth in size. Adrian decided to give her original pieces an extended life on wood (body) and bordered with metal then screws (bone). Giving a fresh look using the technique called serigraph printing.
