Performing Art – Chicago
Akira K. is a young Chicago poet and spoken word artist. Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, I have been working toward her goal of being a powerful poetic influence. I am a performing artist at Young Chicago Authors and has been doing poetry for 11 years and counting, showing no signs of slowing down. I have been performing at events like NIU's Rep Yo Org, Lip Sync, and also winning 2016 NIU's Got Talent Competition. I am currently still performing my spoken word and will be releasing a 2-part poetry book entitled "Tears Of A Rose" with many more projects to come.
