Alexa Barry

Born and raised in the majestic forests and mountains of New Hampshire, it is impossible not to understand and see beauty in everything. After attending Bowdoin College in Maine, I ventured into the great western part of this country, parking my car in Oakland, CA. The vastness of the country, the uniqueness of its landscape, the splendor, beauty, strangeness, have all lent to my pursuit of creation. I once heard that artists do not create beauty, they instead channel the beauty of the world and the product is art. I could not agree more. As impossible as it is to not see the world through your own eyes, I believe it is not my job to show you my perspective, it is my job and the job of all artists to channel beauty and create so that we humans have a small chance of holding onto a piece of the world's splendor.
