Alexandria

Visual Art – New York - NYC

Earning a degree in Graphic Design at the Pratt Institute, Alexandria became very influenced towards fine arts after graduating and began experimenting with painting. Deciding to live in the Hampton’s and in NYC part time, she fell in love with the urban sprawl and the unique visuals inspiring her to create these very organic and urban like creations. Her art work has been inspired by many artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Dubuffet, Miró, and so forth. Utilizing distinct style working with acrylic, and Ink on a living canvas of organic wood, Alexandria creates robust pieces driven by plenty of emotion and color which brings this bold and unique characteristic creating a warm, exotic and dreamy atmosphere. Most of her technique is done by free hand. She gets inspired by the first line she puts down on a blank canvas and than continues to create her whimsical graffiti like pieces which are all told in a different and engaging story when intimately looking at each piece, which is what makes her work is so intriguing.
