Visual Art – San Antonio

My name is Alexis Marie Rakun and I grew up in Boerne, Texas. I lived in the country and was raised that way ever since I was a little girl. My parents never got along too well. So my older sister and I would keep to ourselves by the creek on our property and we would play for hours. Imagination was and still is my bestfriend. There were no cell phones to distract us or "pokemon-go". It was just nature, my imagination, and my curiosity. Since then, I have somehow held on dearly to my imagination, knowing that it is very much essential to keeping your bliss in this life! When I paint I am escaping. As though all of my pieces are "portals of escape" from our everyday, seemingly monotonous, earthly routines and problems. It is the best meditation I could possibly ever ask for. It rejuvenates my soul, my motivation for life, my dreams, and my goals. My main artistic theme is the cosmos, Goddesses, and the beautifully nonsensical. My inspiration derives from what my soul loves. My soul-love is very important to me. Cosmos remind me of infinity, expansion, surprises, and to not take life too seriously. Goddesses is a theme because I paint what I believe we all truly are inside. It is an expression of who we all are to our core - emaculate and divine beings. Each and every person, just as special as the next. I paint nonsensical things because life is evolution - it is the unknown surely revealing itself. Life is creativity, life is everchanging. The Universe is a transformative, innovate, and genius machine. I like to believe that I am apart of that. That everyone has unlimited minds.
